doubly charmed with ann buschlen

What do you call a pattern containing two charming companion quilts? Doubly Charmed, of course! You'll use the same set of 5" squares for both quilts. It's like magic! You'll cut the center beams from the squares for the first quilt and then you'll use the cutaways for the side triangles in the second. Two beautiful quilts out of one set of squares! Enchanting!

The following Studio 180 rulers are required for this pattern: V Block, Corner Beam, and Square2. If you already have a square in a square ruler or method, you do not need the Square2. But the other 2 rulers are definitely rulers that you can use again.

Ask about them at your local quilt shop or order from www.studio180design.net

Project Size:  40" x  48" (Corner Beam Project) & 47" x 59" (V Block Project)

Table runners with gail brown

By popular demand, Gail will be teaching a class on table runners. Great for instant gratification (and your soon-to-be-decorated holiday table) table runners are a fast project and a great use of scraps, jelly rolls, and fat quarters. Pick your favorite (or favorites!) and let Gail help you get sewing.

crinkle

Made with no special templates, this 3-D effect runner employs a quilt-as-you-go technique and has no binding, so you're sure to leave the retreat with a finished project. Great for a jelly roll! Pattern by Merry May of Schoolhouse Enterprises. (Photo from quiltwoman.com)

Rising Star

A Graywood Designs pattern by Wanda Eichler, this patriotic classic looks great in red, white, and blue-or whatever color wave suits you! Easily pieced using Thangles, this table runner goes together quickly. (Photo from thangles.com)

spicy spiral

This stunning runner is not as hard as it seems! Using a nine or ten degree wedge tool, this fat-quarter friendly piece is actually easy to make. You can get the wedge tool at your local quilt store, but Gail will provide one to borrow if you don't want to buy your own. Pattern by Patty Latourell. (Photo from bigforkquiltsetc.blogspot.com)

beginner's class with gail brown

This class is for those of you who want to learn to quilt, but don't know where to start. You will construct this quilt using a "layer cake" (set of 10" quilt squares) and a charm pack (set of 5" quilt squares). To make it bigger if desired, you can add sashing and borders. I used sashing on mine (pictured) and will be adding a border. You can use a charm pack that matches your layer cake or one that coordinates. I used one that coordinates because my fabric was very busy. That is also the reason I added sashing, but that can be decided when the blocks are completed. Don't worry, you'll pick up the knowledge and vocabulary in no time! You will need to bring your own machine, fabric, and supplies. Gail will give you a detailed list of what you need to get started.
